Tivoli Hotels & Resorts continues its expansion in Europe with the new Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort in Portugal

• NH Hotel Group will operate this future five-star resort, which marks the group's entry into the all-inclusive segment
• The 470-room property will be refurbished before opening under the Tivoli brand in the first quarter of 2023

Lisbon, 12 December 2022 – Tivoli Hotels & Resorts continues its expansion in Europe announcing an upcoming new addition to the brand’s portfolio in Portugal. Located close to one of the largest sandy beaches of the Algarve and just minutes from the city of Portimão, the luxury resort will reopen as Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort during the first quarter of next year. NH Hotel Group will operate the five-star property, following an agreement signed with Azora, the owning company of this property together with whom NH already operates the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura Algarve Resort and the Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort in Portugal.

The resort, which is currently closed, will be refurbished in order to offer the highest standards of service of the Tivoli brand, improving the overall customer experience. Furthermore, with this opening, the brand will enter the all-inclusive market, reinforcing its leadership in the leisure segment in the renowned Portuguese region. Presented as a family hotel, Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort will feature 470 rooms and suites, and will include amenities for the whole family.

Spanning over 112,000 square metres, guests will be able to enjoy modern facilities in a newly built resort (2019) and all the amenities of a luxury resort. With four restaurants and two bars, the Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort will offer dining options to suit all tastes and palates, as well as venues to celebrate special occasions.

The property offers world-class sports facilities, including a mini golf, paddle tennis courts and a gym, as well as six swimming pools allowing for a wide range of water activities. While the little ones can enjoy numerous activities in the children's clubs, teenagers can make the most of the large multi-purpose sports field. Adults, meanwhile, will be able to choose to keep active in the gym or to enjoy a relaxing treatment at the Spa.

The resort, which will be the brand's sixth property in the Algarve, is located just 600 metres from the sea and close to the charming town of Alvor, with its whitewashed houses, narrow cobbled streets and fishing boats moored along the banks of Alvor river. Surrounded by extensive green areas, the resort's location is perfect for reconnecting with nature making the most of the stunning sandy beaches nearby, discovering the local caves around Portimão and Lagos, like the unique Benagil cave or the cliffs of Ponta da Piedade; the city of Portimão with its Museum, marina and nightlife is minutes away. The resort is one hour from Faro airport.

With the addition of Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort and the future Tivoli La Caleta Resort in Tenerife, which is scheduled to open in spring 2023, there will be 18 properties operating under the Tivoli Hotels & Resorts brand, owned by Minor Hotels and operated in Europe by NH Hotel Group.
